In August of 1996, five third-year college students at UCSD applied to rent a 3 bedroom home in Claremont overlooking Mission Bay with the intent to convert a den and half a garage into two additional bedrooms. With seemingly weekly parties and countless evenings of intoxication, it was only appropriate that any reminiscence with respect to this former house, it's occupants, and anyone who made it through a night there alive, that our website be named after the street it sits on. Sometime in late 1999, two of the caddenside inhabitants began meeting regularly, and it was realized that with 4 of us living up north, we should be meeting regularly. And as one more member stepped back into the loop in February of 2001, we committed to meeting at least once a month to exchange ideas and share experiences. Since the rite of initiation is picking up the bill on the 2nd outing after joining, we encourage fellow caddensiders (or close friends) to join. This system of rotating the bill has produced some very innovative Monthly Meetings. And, of course, when things can't wait, we've managed to reconvene at many parties up and down the California Coast.
